TRADITIONS

SOME of these traditions date back hundreds of years. Some may even notch up a thousand or so years. And some can be revived customs or entirely new ones that are only a few years old. If they tickle your fancy you may wish to see them in action - but check the venues and dates before setting out. While the editors of this website take as much care as possible, many of these traditions switch date or venue for no other reason than the weather! Please check with organisers before you set out.

Note in particular the mummers section which includes its own Contents page and includes much original research.
